Home Health Authorization Specialist

Location: Las Vegas/Henderson, NV (In-Office Only – Not Remote)

Dependable Health Services of Nevada is seeking a detail-oriented Authorization Specialist to join our team. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring patients receive timely care by verifying insurance coverage, obtaining authorizations, and supporting accurate medical billing. You’ll work closely with patients, providers, and insurance companies to keep everything running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify patients’ insurance coverage, benefits, and authorizations with accuracy and confidentiality.

• Communicate with insurance companies via phone, email, and online portals to confirm eligibility and benefits.

• Clearly explain copays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs to patients.

• Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.

• Coordinate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation for insurance authorization.

• Work with billing and coding departments to support accurate claim submission and reimbursement.

• Research and resolve denied claims, authorization issues, and insurance discrepancies.

• Stay up to date on insurance regulations, coding practices, and payer requirements.

• Provide excellent customer service to patients, staff, and insurance partners.

• Support the administrative team with other related tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT coding, and insurance regulations preferred.

• Home health or hospice experience required.

• Proficiency in EHR systems and strong computer skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• High attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Reliable, organized, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
